Rez Jams the Gym

On Wednesday November 8th, students from residence will be cheering on the Varsity Men's Basketball team in their home game! As RLS members, you're building will be hosting a pump up event at 7:15pm for students to make posters, lanyards, and so much more! Each hall will be given one player who they will focus most of their cheers and signs towards. The games starts at 8:00pm in the Gryphons Athletics Center.

There will be an interactive jumbotron, mascot musical chairs, bubble obstacle course, Minute to win it games, and 1 student shooting to win Buffalo Wild Wings ‘Wings for a Year’! See you there!

Holiday Baskets

Holiday Baskets are a campaign that RLS takes part in each year. Communities purchase goods for less fortunate in Guelph community and help to create a better holiday experience for those in need. If you choose to do this with your community then please try to focus on teens. There are info sheets/lists of suggested gifts coming around for each staff member that will provide more of an idea of what to buy. This is a fantastic community experience!

Flu Shots Available on Residence

On Tuesday November 7th in the Mountain SSL from 10 am - 4 pm, you can get your flu shot and protect yourself from the inevitable wave of sickness that will be hitting campus soon.

The next available Rez flu shot clinic will be next Monday November 13th in the LA FPL from 10 am - 4 pm.

A Knight at the Round Table

On Sunday November 18th at 4pm at the Bullring, Residence will be hosting the first ever Knight at the Round Table. This residence wide program will include a Settlers of Catan tournament along with other multi-game tournaments. It will cost $5 to enter which will be going towards appetizers and the Guelph/Wellington Children's Foundation!

Look for advertisements to go up on Thursday! Tell your students, friends, mom, dad, uncles, cousins, basically anyone you come in contact with! It's gonna be a Knight to remember!!

Student Satisfaction Survey!

The student satisfaction surveys were sent out last week. This survey will ask students not just about their experience in residence but also your performance as an RLS member. But don't fret too much!

The community with the highest participation percentage will receive a grand prize of free community pizza party. There are also individual prizes for students who complete the survey.

November Residence Wide Boards!

The November residence wide boards have been sent out to your buildings! This month we will be looking at navigating the conflict roommates will face as the school year goes on. Take a page out of Hannah Lang's book and put your own little flare on the board.

1-in-5 Mental Wellbeing Week

1 in 5 week aims to open the dialogue about mental wellbeing by running events which provides students with multiple tools to deal with mental health. This week will focus on destigmatizing mental health, promoting healthy behaviours, and provide information about supports and resources available here on campus. Look out for more information of all the fantastic events that will be running this week!

Night of the Living Essays

On Tuesday November 7th from 6-9 pm, the library will be hosting mini writing workshops every 1/2 hour. They will go over thesis statements, essay structures, clarity and flow, and common grammar errors. There will also be 50+ writing consultations for undergrad students in every discipline!
