Places You Need To Visit In Balboa Park

As many of you *hopefully* know, Outreach is hosting a bus trip to Balboa Park on December 2nd (perfect timing for you to relax before the finals week)! However, there are so many awesome places to visit at the park, that we separated a few of our favorite attractions!

Botanical Building and Lily Pond

The botanical building and the lily pond is a must-go at Balboa Park. The building was built for the 1915 Panama-California exposition, contains over 2,100 plants and it is a great place for those insta-worthy pictures.

National History Museum

San Diego's own National History Museum is in Balboa park, and it is one of the 2 museums your ticket to Outreach's bus trip covers! This amazing museum has a research collection of 9 million specimen, 3D theater and 4 floors of exhibitions!

Japanese Friendship Garden

Did you know that San Diego has 15 sister cities from all around the world? Well now you do! This Japanese Friendship Garden was created to celebrate SD's friendship with one of its sister cities - Yokohama, Japan! There you will have an immersive experience into Japanese culture, and again - awesome Instagram pics.

Air and Space Museum

Do you love science, space and aviation? Then the San Diego Air and Space Museum is the right place for you! The second museum that your ticket to Outreach bus trip covers offers a collection of historical aircrafts, the actual Apollo 9 Command Module, MaxFlights simulator, and more!

Ok, saving the best for last: F-O-O-D!! There are a lot of good places you can eat in Balboa Park, and each one of them has it own style and charm. If you are feeling fancy and want a proper sit down lunch or dinner, we recommend Prado Restaurant! They have a variety of food options and a stunning patio!

Craveology and Cafe in the Park

If you dont want a full sit down meal, Craveology and Cafe in the Park are great options for sandwich, baked goods and coffee! In both locations, you can enjoy the park and its beautiful views!
