In 1957, Buster made his live debut when producer Mike Todd and his wife, actress Elizabeth Taylor visited #UBuffalo. The presentation was one part of Taylor and Todd's four day visit with mayor, Steven Pankow to help celebrate Buffalo's 125th anniversary.

Bethune Hall was purchased on May 27, 1971 from Singer Company of Philadelphia for use by the #UBuffalo for the School of Architecture. After being left vacant for about eleven years, Bethune was sold in 2005 to Meyer Landau, a Brooklyn-based real estate investor who plans to renovate the building for loft apartments and studios.

Every spring, more than 1,500 UB students, alumni and volunteers gather to participate in Oozefest, one of the nation's largest collegiate mud volleyball tournaments. It was originally called "Oozeball" and later changed to "Oozefest".
