A vertical monitor is a normal monitor that is positioned horizontally and is rotated vertically by 90 degrees.

It is coming under the purview of popular culture and is mostly handy with dual monitor setups where you place one of the monitors in portrait mode by rotating the monitor arm.

It is extremely useful for software developers, graphic designers, day traders and photographers.

    Step 1

The first step to setting up a vertical monitor is to buy one with high-resolution and enough screen space to ensure better quality while multitasking.

    Step 2

The next step is to find an arm stand or a mount that can hold your monitor that has to be changed into portrait mode.

    Step 3

There are few tools and hardware stuff that's required to attach the monitor to the wall and prop it better.

    Step 4

Another important step is to measure how far apart you need your monitor, usually around the eye level.

    Step 5

Drill some holes in the walls and connect the monitor to the mount, some more vesa mounts can be used to adjust both the screens.

    Step 6

The monitors can now be placed side by side or up and down format.

    Step 7

The next step is configuration. If the monitor doesn't support vertical rotation, you need to mount the monitors separately to use it vertically.

    Step 8

Following the above step, rotate your monitor clockwise or anti-clockwise to 90% that would make it vertical.

    Step 9

Change the display settings to portrait mode now and test your final setup.
