1. You *really* can work out anywhere. Like, seriously, anywhere.

There is no excuse not to work out even when you're out and about. An aquarium can also double up as a yoga studio. So can a park or an empty meeting room at work. Namaste. 🙏

2. Your food Instagram shots will always look better if you take them from above.

So will an artful sprinkling of some herbs and seeds.

3. Healthy living should be a state of being rather than just something you do to achieve a certain body or look.

It may surprise you how much more motivated a little change in perspective will make you feel.

4. Friends really are there to lean on.

Buddying up is a good way to keep yourself from cancelling the gym in favour of sitting in front of the TV. Besides, you can try out some new and fun exercises that are practically impossible solo.

5. Packed lunches don't have to be boring and bland.

Meal prep is the lazy person's quick fix to healthy eating. Prep these easy lunches for the week all at once, and you'll have fewer dishes and less clean-up. Perfect.

6. Exercise is a great way to feel powerful in your body.

No matter how fit you are, exercise allows you to set goals and achieve them. At the end of the day, it's not about attaining an ideal from a magazine; it's about feeling victorious.

7. Moderation is the key to living a healthy life.

"I strongly believe there are NO bad or banned foods. Food shouldn't be categorised as healthy or unhealthy or placed onto a list only to be feared...80% of the time I will eat a wide variety of nutritious foods NOT for aesthetic reasons, not because I want abs or a big butt, but because I care for and am aware of my health... But 20% of the time, I eat the things I really want....Life's too short for restrictions, or to punish or prevent ourselves from consuming the foods we love... and I feel for me, the 80/20 is the perfect balance. Please see past the name and believe that I don't advocate anything other than this."

9. ...and you'll feel instantly more accomplished when you try something that you've never done before.

Bonus: When you pick up something new, the bar is instantly set low so you'll spend your first few weeks hitting PBs left, right, and centre.

10. There is nothing better than that post-workout feeling.

There is a scientific reason why people love the gym. Exercise releases the happy chemical, dopamine, so you'll feel a boost of the good stuff whenever you make the effort to lace your trainers and go. Plus, that post-workout glow is so, so real.

11. A workout can be like a therapy session (but without the hefty price tag).
