We Bet You Can't Get More Than 3/10 On This Year 10 Maths Test

You use the FOIL method
F - First Terms 
O - Outer Terms 
I - Inner Terms 
L - Last Terms

It's x^2-1

let's start with an easy one: what is the equivalent of (x+1)(x-1)

Whatever you do to one side you must do to the other

x = 2

getting a little harder now  
what is _x_ in this equation: 6-3x=0

z = 0 & 1

it's really starting to heat up now  
solve for _z_  
z^2-z=0  


Times both sides by _i_ first this add the _u_ then take away _at_.

u=v-at

and this was one of the easy questions  
rewrite this formula so that _u_ is the subject:  
a=v-u/t  


You add the denominators to each side and then simply adding the leftovers.

x=-10/7

this is slightly harder  
solve for _x_:  
4/x+6=3/2-x  


You times what's in the brackets by the four on the outside and then add like terms.

Its 4y-9

here's an easier one  
simplify this equation:  
4(y-4)+7  


Because (d-5) is already common in both parts of the equation all you have to do is put some more brackets in

its (c+3)(d-5)

you're nearly there  
factorise the equation:   
c(d-5)+3(d-5)  


x=11 or -1

only a few more to go solve for x  
x^2-10x-11=0  


First, you substitue the values into the equation. Next you square -3 which equals 9. Then you add.

it equals 72

this one is by far the easiest   
if a=4, b=-3 & c=7 solve for:  
2ab^2  


There's no real solution

Let's just be honest, you probably didn't do too well in year 10 maths, but honestly who does? Just remember C's get degrees.
