Some of our deepest suspicions about what's going on right under our very noses will be confirmed...

1. ...like where those weird scuff marks on the pool table came from...

2. ...how the carpet got mysteriously ruined...

3. ...why the vacuum cleaner doesn't run properly anymore...

4. ...why there are popcorn kernels in every nook and cranny of the apartment...

5. ...the real truth behind what happened to the flowers in the living room...

6. ...and the secret reason why the stereo somehow always ends up at the loudest volume.

The movie follows the adventures of a dog named Max (Louis C.K.), whose life is turned upside down when his owner brings home a rescue named Duke (Eric Stonestreet).

But a run-in with a group of alley cats sets in motion a chain of events that leads the dogs to be captured by animal control and taken to the pound.

Their only hope is a rabbit named Snowball (Kevin Hart), who's not quite as cute as he seems...

...and in return for his help, they're going to have to join his gang of pets who have vowed to seek revenge against the humans who abandoned them.

So, to answer the question "What do our pets do while we're away?"

7. They keep our furniture warm...

8. ...provided they're not distracted by something more important.

9. They make, um, art.

10. They keep a very careful eye on everything in our refrigerator.

11. They help reorganize our documents for us.

12. And, every now and then, they work together to plot our downfall.

13. But it all comes from a place of love.

14. Even in the case of cats.

The Secret Life of Pets arrives in theaters on July 8, and it's going to be the adventure of a lifetime.
