A Housewife's Persona Will Never Be The Same
I believe the advent of the Real Housewives Reality shows helped the average woman feel relevant by connecting with what we saw and heard on television, as they allowed us to be a part of their lives on a more intimate level. The crazy relationship issues of girlfriends, (ex) husbands and children bridged the gap of relating with the stories they revealed weekly. We learned first hand that a lot of the stories cannot be denied as being real when we discovered Real Housewife Teresa Giudice went to prison, and we were able to go on the journey her husband and children experienced during her absence. The next season Teresa and Melissa Gorga proved to have a stronger bond even through the meddling of Jacqueline Laurita trying to disrupt the new commitment they developed while Teresa was in prison. The story showed how a family should stick by your side during tough times. It reminds us to come together when a family is going through a traumatic event even if they are guilty of a crime. With that being said, they have everything money can buy, and now our society is finding ways to duplicate their lifestyle with financing. The belief of becoming a media darling by following their fashion trends makes the average woman feel the possibility is real if she could find a similar fashion or makeup to match the trends they display on air weekly. The privilege these women demonstrate show the options any middle-aged woman has with the availability of special treatments to look like they have found the fountain of youth.

Erika Girardi's Drama Revealed The Child Within Needs Care
2017 proved to be the year of panty gate, lies, and plenty of drama to go around. When Erika discovered her puss had been seen by others unbeknownst to her, she could not let it go because Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson kept the story alive behind the scenes we learned during the reunion. Although many women have not gone pantiless in public this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills showed us how this embarrassing faux pas can unfold as Erika Girardi, aka Erika Jayne had to maneuver jokes on the topic most of the season. The storyline was boring as the drama went on every week leading up to the reunion. We have all had a friend or two who can not accept an apology no matter how it is given, in order to move on for the sake of everyone involved. Unfortunately, it only lowered the status of Erika's persona of being cool calm and collected she showed us last season. For goodness sake, she dances and sings "pat the puss" barely dressed, so I'm hoping to see the drama about something substantial next season. However, the scene she shared with her mother explained the anguish a child can carry into adult life and we can only hope Erika will continue to open up about upsetting issues since many can relate to them, plus this may explain why she couldn't let the pantiless scene die. Subsequently, watching Lisa Rinna behave seems to be a lot of overacting to get attention, or something else more serious is going on. Those of us who are concerned about Lisa Rinna's behavior this season which involved stirring up trouble then acting dumb when she got caught reminds us that some people in our lives are doing things we only hope they will come to their senses about sooner or later. She seems to be playing the show's mastermind of drama each season to get attention and frankly it is played out. Let's hope the producers of the show do not air her antics next season for the sake of total boredom for the viewer.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Left The Best For Last
As for the South, Atlanta presented a problem with the Georgia peaches that someone in the group was acting rotten. If you have every had a rumor spread about you then it would be easy to relate to Kandi Burruss' upset as she was left hanging for most of the season trying to find out who was the culprit. The reunion went on for a four-part reveal of who told the lie. The only problem is the lie was told by an attorney that should know better, so the end of the reunion was filled with a lot of explosive emotions. The rumor has it that Phaedra Parks the attorney that lied has been fired from the show, so if this is true karma has boomeranged its revenge on her. Come on admit you have had one or two situations that you exploded about when you found out something was hidden allowing a lie to go under your radar. Even if our life is not as exciting it's interesting to see how others handle problems we can relate too. On a lighter note, the mystic of an older woman and a younger man was introduced this season as Kenya Moore took a walk in the playground with a younger man and discovered he could not handle her mood swings any better than the fellow casts. You know the kind of person you keep yourself far away because they always have something negative to say well that's what Kenya displays. Every season Kenya starts pleasantly than before you know it the comments start up and you watch hoping she will learn to take the higher road, but nope it never happens. If only she could learn that her issues with other women are misplaced anger from her mother not treating her with the respect she deserved then she wouldn't have the constant issues with the others on the show. Her mother missed out but until she understands how wonderful she is she will continue to act up. It reminds the viewer what can happen if they mistreat their children and stunt their growth. It is the parents' fault during the child rearing years, but once the child grows up it is up to them to continue the healing process alone. It was in Kenya's best interest when she let her mother go and hopefully she can continue to heal from the past.

The stories are developing on the RHONY as the season started only a month ago. Luann D'Gostino has not had her wedding yet but the drama from last season hasn't subsided. We are seeing dinner parties as awkward as our own difficult get together's unless we live in utopia. Ramona Singer spent much of last season being the mediator in the other women's squabbles but this season she seems to be stirring the pot with of all people Bethenny Frankel, who can take anyone down with her wit alone. Get your popcorn ready for the explosive sparks that will be coming very soon I suspect. Until then we can only wonder what Ramona is thinking or not shall I say.

The Newest Housewife Can Take It And Dish It Out Too
The initiation of the newest member Monique Samuels showed how quickly she will have to learn what housewife hazing is all about, as Gizelle's conversations go left insinuating Monique is highfalutin. The funny thing is Gizelle is the one that acts pompous as her tagline flat out tells us of her self-importance. The season continues with difficulties that will surely build to a climax for the season reunion. This seems to be the pattern for all the shows where they will hash out what happened over the previous weeks then hopefully meet during the break and come back friends or worse the next season. We will have to wait to see the development over the next few weeks to see how all the bickering will end during the reunion.

Where The Connection Began
From the beginning of this brand that started with The Real Housewives of Orange County, a new type of influence would give birth to our generation. The trends we have followed from Vicki Gunvalson and the first casts members during the beginning of this reality show ushered in a new way to perceive what was going on behind closed doors of our wealthy neighbors, and their influences spoke loudly encouraging many to join them and shorten our hemlines and show more cleavage. Many of us miss the soft velour athletic suits with wedge heels that the RHOOC modeled weekly on their reality show. Due to the housewives influence, we no longer need to be told what is appropriate we only need to enjoy the status that our age has provided. Let us also continue to see how these friendships develop or end as we consider how familiar their problems are to ours.
