1. Mentally and physically prepare yourself for what you are about to create.
2. Bake your fries on a baking sheet, as instructed.
3. As the fries are baking, prepare your mashed potato base.
Your mashed potatoes will work as a cementing layer as well as frosting for the cake, so aim for a consistency that is more solid than creamy. The rule of thumb here is if a fry can stand up on its own in the mashed potato, you're good to go.
4. Once mashed potatoes are cooked, set your base layer in the pie tin.
5. Once your fries are baked, separate your long fries from short fries.
6. Line the outer rim of your pie tin with the shorter fries you just picked out.
7. Place your long fries parallel to each other as your first layer of fries.
8. Now for your second layer of mashed potatoes.
9. Finally, garnish your cake with as many curly fries as your heart desires.
10. You did it!
