1. Mentally and physically prepare yourself for what you are about to create.
2. Bake your fries on a baking sheet, as instructed.
3. As the fries are baking, prepare your mashed potato base.
Your mashed potatoes will work as a cementing layer as well as frosting for the cake, so aim for a consistency that is more solid than creamy. The rule of thumb here is if a fry can stand up on its own in the mashed potato, you're good to go.
