1. We're sick of hearing, "you'd look good with straight hair!"

Seriously, it's not cute. In my 14 years of being a living, breathing British girl I have always been told that my hair would look cute... if I straightened it. Now every time someone says, "hey, Otter! Have you ever straightened your hair?", I will reply with a penis joke... because maturity.

2. We are sick of being asked If we can speak African... seriously.

Every single time the topic of being bilingual comes up during class all heads turn to us. Being the only brown girl in a predominantly white school, everyone expects me to be able to speak AFRICAN? The even more annoying part is when you're Caribbean, not even close to African.

3. We need to stop hearing white people saying the N word!!!

It's not cute. Most people I know don't even like hearing people who are the correct colour use it, so to appropriate it just ain't working for you, sorry. Next.

4. WE ALWAYS GET OUR HAIR TOUCHED

Honestly, we can't make it between classes without some stranger touching our hair then telling all of their friends to touch it too. If we know you, we might not mind. If we don't know you, it may seem flattering but it's not. It's kind of creepy. We will slap you.
