Now That It's This Time Of Year, We Need To Talk About The Nasty Thanksgiving Threat

Have you ever seen someone try to serve a dish at Thanksgiving that was completely questionable? From the way it looked and smelled, you just knew it was something you didn't want on your plate. This is the Thanksgiving Threat.

I'm not talking about a dish you wouldn't eat no matter where it came from or who made it. I'm talking about food made by someone that can't cook and is so nasty it should be ILLEGAL.

I believe what makes these encounters so horrible is the smile they give you when they serve that hot garbage. It's as if they know what they've done, but they're putting your kindness to the test. It's in moments like these, I realize I have never stared into a person's eyes so long, while hoping they can read my mind as I'm internally repeating, Are you for real?!

But as you're hiding your disgusted face, you realize there's options from here:

1. Eat it anyways

Personally, I would NOT recommend this. The food proudly sits under the inedible category and you're volunteering yourself as the first victim. That definitely couldn't be me, but if you're brave, be my guest. The only downfall to this is complimenting the food can cause a domino effect. Basically, if you say it's good, they'll expect everyone else to dig in and you just secured them a spot to make that crap again next year, but I guess that'll be a new family tradition.

2. Throw it away

Now if you are going to do this you need to do it right. You can't back out at the last second. You need to fully commit. When the coast is clear head to the nearest trash can and DUMP IT. Put it face down and put some force to it OR if there's a garbage disposal...you know what to do.

Hopefully, you won't get the result my friend did with this technique. She put the plate at the bottom of the trash can and her family member confronted her later about hiding it down there. Ultimately, if you know your food is nasty and knew to look at the bottom of a trash can for evidence, we need to talk.

3. Ask loudly, "Who made this?!"

This is not for the weak. Be very bold and say it with your chest, "Who made this?!" Yes, this can be very rude and no, this shouldn't be meant to embarrass anyone, but if this concoction mysteriously shows up every year while seeing no one eat it every year, it must be STOPPED. Even without someone coming forward, that should be enough to end what the family thought was a life long sentence to Foul Food County Correctional Facility.
