    1. These stainless steel straws that are basically just like the plastic straws, but without the waste factor.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "I had a difficult time finding normal size reusable straws, so these are perfect! I use a straw pretty much every day and I hated always throwing them away, so I would wash and reuse them a few times. They are very close in size to the disposable ones and have a nice bend to them. I was worried they would get too cold when I drink or too hot when I wash, but they don’t. I was also concerned that they’d give a metallic taste to my drinks, but I haven’t noticed any. I definitely recommend these straws!" —Keely M

    Rachel Wilkerson Miller / BuzzFeed

My coworker Rachel swears by this stuff! It's made from organic cotton, sustainably sourced beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin. You can use it to cover bowls or dishes, or to wrap up cheese, sandwiches, or bread. To use, you cover or wrap the item, and then sort of press your hands on it gently for a few seconds to warm the wrap; in a few seconds, it'll sort of melt down and stick to itself (or the bowl).

    amazon.com

Promising review: "This set of containers is a great combination for me. The size of each one is perfect. The air tight lid keeps the food freshness longer. Simply pull the the rubber button before close the lid, and press the rubber button after close, the air is pressed away and the lid is very tight. 5. These bamboo paper towels that you can actually wash and reuse.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "I wish I knew about these YEARS ago! I gave up using paper towels regularly, and these felt like a happy reunion. Remember all those old paper towel commercials where 'their' paper towel kept cleaning while the 'other' paper towel fell apart right away. I am sure every single commercial was actually using one of these instead. They feel just like a paper towel when wet, only they will not break apart. Clean your whole house with one, then wash it and put it away for next time." —Amazon Customer

I was just excited to share a way to rid our planet of at least one source of plastic. These trash bags work great. We use them for about one week before changing usually at our house without any issues. Just make sure if you put a lot of wet stuff in there, that you change the bag before TOO many days pass, or the bag may begin to break down. This only happened ONCE and it wasn't a big deal.
