30 Very Good Dogs Who Support Bears Ears

In December 2016, President Obama designated the Bears Ears National Monument, over 2,000 square miles of spectacular landscape in Southeastern Utah with significant environmental and cultural significance. The monument was proposed by five Tribes with ancestral ties to the land, and is supported by the majority of Native and non-Native Utahns alike. This April, President Trump signed an executive order demanding a review of all monument designations in the last two decades, a move which particularly threatens Bears Ears. In response, thousands of concerned people rallied at the Utah State Capitol to show their support for keeping Bears Ears National Monument protected in its entirety. Included in the crowd were #protestpups, including:

    1. This cutie who stands with Bears Ears, because even canines know we need to protect sacred land.

    2. This fluffdog, who just learned Bears Ears is home to 100,000 sites of archeological and cultural significance.

    3. And this pup who is *very* frightened that Interior Secretary Zinke might support significantly reducing the monument's size.

    4. This majestic floof who wants to know why Utah legislators won't respect Tribal sovereignty.
