a quick note
i am not taking full credit for this idea! i have never seen this recipe anywhere before, but that does not mean it didn't already exist
You'll need:
A blender
Measuring cups
Any kind of milk you'd like
Cocoa powder, preferably sweetened
Sugar
Bottled iced mocha (remember the Starbucks bottled frappuccinos you sometimes see at grocery or convenience stores? That's it. I'll insert a few pictures down below for you to see)
One ice cream sandwich! The best kind to use for this recipe is vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers
The pictures you'll see above are of the products I would recommend using for this recipe, as the two of those both have a smooth, rich flavor. But any brand of iced mocha you find will work!
It's time to start making your drink!
First, pour 2-3 cups of milk, depending on how many people you're serving and how much you want to make, into the blender. Then you'll add 4 teaspoons of cocoa powder, followed by 4 tablespoons of sugar. Because you want this drink to be cold and refreshing, fill a tall glass almost to the brim with ice and add that in the blender as well. Now it's time to start the first round of blending.
Of course, before you turn the blender on, plug it into the wall. I didn't think saying that would be necessary but who knows?
Ok, now you're actually going to start blending these first few ingredients together! Watch as your blender mixes everything and stop whenever you'd like to. Then, before you move on, taste what you have of this concoction so far. If you think it needs a little more milk, sugar, cocoa powder or ice, go ahead and add that in. Keep blending and adding more until you're satisfied with the results!
Now is the best part...
You're not quite done! Now it's time to add in that delicious ice cream sandwich. You can either add in the whole thing at once or tear it into small crumbles before dropping it into the blender. Once you've done that, turn on the blender again and continue until you're satisfied with the consistency. If you prefer a thicker consistency or you like it a little more light, just keep going until you get that!
Also, if you want, after you've blended in the ice cream sandwich you can either get another one or grab some Oreo cookie crumbles and sprinkle them on top! This is completely optional, though.
You're almost done! Remember that iced mocha coffee from earlier? Pour a good splash of that, however much you want, into the blender-you don't have to actually turn on the blender again and mix it in, though. Now you're finally finished! Pour into a glass, mug, bottle or whatever you'd like.
I really hope you enjoyed this recipe! Sorry I didn't add any of my own pictures of the final product of this into the article. Let me know in the comments how yours turned out-feel free to share any pics or tips you have to make this even better!
