It's no secret that Love is Blind is messy AF. Everyone's expected to find someone they want to marry within a week without knowing what they look like.
It seemingly has worked out well for certain couples, like fan favorites Lauren and Cameron. For others, though, it wasn't smooth sailing. The love triangle between Jessica, Mark, and Barnett was *a lot*.
In case you need a refresher, Jessica (aka the woman who puts on a baby voice and fed wine to her dog) fell for both Barnett and Mark. Jessica had an immediate connection with Mark, but their ten-year age difference was a big red flag for her.
With that in mind, she developed a strong bond with Barnett, a fratty bro who loves Taylor Swift.
He was a hot commodity and had two other women who wanted to marry him, Amber and LC.
Jessica was absolutely convinced that Barnett would pick her.
Barnett even thought they were endgame, too.
But plot twist! Barnett picked Amber. The reunion picture even strongly hinted that they're still together.
Peep that glare!
So why did Barnett end up picking Amber?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Barnett explained his reasoning for not picking Jessica.
With Jessica, I got this thought in my head that she was just a salesperson because I knew that’s what she had done in the past. It made me reevaluate if she was just trying to sell herself to me.
It's a bit harsh, but Jessica did try to make herself seem equally appealing to both Barnett and Mark, choosing the latter when Barnett broke things off with her. It's easy to question whether she actually could see herself marrying either of them or if she treated the show as a competition.
As for what Amber has in comparison to Jessica, Barnett said "Amber just had that fire that I needed in my life."
Amber definitely is the human equivalent of a forest fire, and it's extremely entertaining.
no matter how you feel about Amber, you have to respect the fact that she always tells her enemies to their face exactly how she plans to destroy them
At this point, I'm 99% sure Amber and Barnett are married, so we'll have to wait until the reunion to see Jessica's reaction to them being together.
