13 Simple Ways Busy Mamás Can Make The First Day Of School Special

1. Start the week before. Get your kiddo excited by setting up a little workstation for them.

Have them assist in picking out the decor so they make it their very own. This space will make your future afternoon routine flow with more ease, as they'll know the place to get their work done is in their sweet and personalized spot! Plus, a first day of school doesn't sound so bad when prepping for it is actually kind of fun!

2. Get a few frames and leave them all set up for the artwork they'll be creating at school — they'll be ready to try their best!

They'll look forward to school knowing it will help turn their wall into a full-blown art gallery in upcoming months! If you don't have time to hang frames, just make sure they have a space that'll be destined for their lovely creations.

3. Let them pick out their outfits in the days prior, and celebrate their choices.

Boost their confidence by complimenting their outfits (and hopefully avoid the swapping for other options in the mornings!). Outfits ready = more time for las quinientas other things you have to prep!

4. And ask for their help making their lunchboxes.

5. The night before their big day, read them an inspiring story at bedtime.

Pick out something that will ease their nervousness...perhaps a story about losing fear or how to make new friends!

6. On the day of, wake them up with their favorite breakfast!

Delicious conchas? Totes. Pancakes in the shape of their favorite animal? Check. Also, incorporate fruits that don't require too much effort to cut or set up. :)

The idea is to create joyous moments for them (such as seeing a smile on their teacher's face) on that day and balance the uneasiness they may feel at certain moments. Whether you buy the cookies or make them, it's just cute to have that extra detail! Plus, you can print the band here.

9. ...and perhaps even some treats for their new buddies!

It's a simple way to help them make new amiguitos right away. Paletas or even just sending them off with a few colorful pencil sharpeners to share around are more than enough.
