1. The Detox Kitchen, founded by Lily Simpson.

The Detox Kitchen is a meal delivery service which offers customers meals that are free from wheat, dairy, and refined sugar. Lily Simpson launched the delivery service in 2012 having run her own catering business prior to that. She has since published a recipe book and opened three delis in London.

2. Snap Tech, founded by Jenny Griffiths.

Snap Fashion is the first fashion visual search engine that allows you to shop by taking inspiration from the world around you, searching by a colour palette, or shape.

Founder Jenny Griffiths developed the visual search technology behind Snap Fashion while completing a master's degree in computer science and has been scaling the company for the last five years, earning multiple awards, including an MBE for her Services to Innovation in the Fashion Industry in 2015.

3. Premae Skincare, founded by Dr Clare Anyiam-Osigwe.

Premae Skincare is the world's first allergen-friendly approved beauty brand. The company offers skincare products, such as mango butter based foundations, that are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from classic allergens such as oats, lanolin, tree nuts, nuts, wheat, dairy, or animal by-products.

Founder Dr Clare Anyiam-Osigwe began mixing the products at home in Islington, North London to mask her Eczema and Acne. Since launching the brand in 2011, Dr Anyiam-Osigwe and her products have received 17 awards, including British Empire Medal (BEM) from the Queen for services to dermatology.

4. Blaze, founded by Emily Brooke.

Blaze uses innovative technology to create products which directly tackle the specific issues surrounding safety for urban cyclists. Their flagship product, the Laserlight, uses forward projection technology to beam a laser image out of blind spots, junctions, and situations where the cyclist is otherwise unseen.

The company was founded by Emily Brooke who researched and developed the idea while studying Product Design at university. Blaze was established in 2012 and by 2015 proudly announced that their Laserlights would be fitted in 11,500 Santander cycles as part of the London Cycle Hire Scheme. Following this success, the brand have just announced a partnership in 2017 with Citi Bike in New York, which will see the lights installed on 250 bikes across the city.

5. Bella Kinesis, founded by Roshni Assomull and Shaleena Chanrai.

Bella Kinesis is a sportswear brand developed by friends Roshni Assomull and Shaleena Chanrai, founded on the desire to support and empower women internationally. The idea behind their business is to create a chain reaction they call "strength for strength", with proceeds from each item of sportswear sold helping to fund business education for a woman in rural India to support them starting a business of their own.

6. Bianca Miller London, founded by Bianca Miller.

Bianca Miller London is a collection of hosiery, including nude tights and hold-ups, for women of all skin tones. The range currently suits over 45 skin tones and is sold at Topshop.

The company was founded by Bianca Miller after she experienced her own personal frustrations of finding nude products that fit her skin tone.

7. Aurelia Skincare, founded by Claire Vero.

Founder Claire Vero launched Aurelia Skincare in 2013, after working for GlaxoSmithKline. Based on Vero's dream of developing a natural yet scientifically proven skincare line, Aurelia Skincare brings together innovative probiotic technology with ethically sourced 100% BioOrganic botanicals. In the last four years, the company has gone on to win 50 awards.

8. toucanBox, founded by Virginie Charles-Dear.

ToucanBox is a personalised arts and crafts subscription service which delivers creative projects for parents with young children. As a mother with young children herself, Virginie Charles-Dear came up with the idea of creating a selection of activities designed to keep children entertained. After she developed a prototype and got her daughter's seal of approval, toucanBox was launched in 2012.

9. Gym Bites, founded by Alexis Oladipo.

Gym Bites aspires to make healthily eating on the go as convenient as possible. Meals are packaged in jars using only fresh ingredients. Any leftover meals are donated to a homeless shelter at the end of each day. Twenty-nine-year-old founder Alexis Oladipo got started with a 3,000 grant from the Prince's Trust charity and got her big break when Gym Bites was sold at Selfridges in London.

10. Frugl, founded by Suzanne Noble.

Founder Suzanne Noble transitioned from a career in PR spanning 20 years to develop the app which launched in 2014. Frugl helps users discover affordable things to do in London. Users can browse through a selection of events in the city including comedy shows, classes, and club nights, all of which will cost under £10.

11. BorrowMyDoggy, founded by Rikke Rosenlund.

BorrowMyDoggy connects dog owners with trusted people in their area who would love to look after their dog. Through BorrowMyDoggy, owners can arrange walks, playtime, overnight stays, or holidays when needed while allowing people without a dog to spend quality time with one.

Founder Rikke Rosenlund came up with the concept in 2012 after taking care of a neighbour's dog. Since then, the site has now grown a community of over 500,000 members.

12. MadeWithGlove, founded by Michelle Hua.

MadeWithGlove is a wearable technology company that's developing fashionable, heated gloves for women. In 2014, MadeWithGlove was listed as one of the 150 Most Influential Brands in Wearable Tech.

The company was founded by Michelle Hua, who received initial support and funding from Lancaster University to build a prototype of the product. She is now working with a team in Silicon Valley and the UK. Hua is also the co-founder of Women of Wearables, an organisation that supports and connects women in wearable, and AR/VR spaces through events and workshops in London and Manchester.
