The Curiosity Rover And Emily Lakdawalla

    Martian Life and Journalism mix!

The Curiosity Rover and Its Mission

The Curiosity Rover was launched on November 26, 2011 to the Gale Crater in Mars. Its mission is to investigate the Martian climate and environment, specifically searching for signs of water and possible microbial life. The rover is exploring Mars to this day, as its mission has been expanded indefinitely.

    Emily Lakdawalla

On my first post, I mentioned that Emily Lakdawalla's blog, Snapshots from Space, is a source of inspiration and news for Sisters in Science. Lakdawalla herself is currently working on a book about the Curiosity Rover, through its inception and the later duration of the mission. Her book is not out yet, but she expects it to be finished in approximately three months.

Next week, I will do a longer, feature post about Emily Lakdawalla and her contributions to science and journalism. In the mean time, enjoy these pictures of Curiosity and some of its discoveries!
