November Date Night Ideas In NYC

Sup fellow New Yorkers, We are in PEAK cuffing season and half of ya'll are still going on boring "lets meet for a drink" dates. Well the dating competition in NYC is fierce, so step up your date night game to compete! Lucky for you I have compiled a list of unique date ideas for the month of November.

    1. NYC Comedy Festival, Nov 7-12

When you ask someone what their looking for in a partner “funny” is bound to be one of the first three adjectives out of their mouth. Well if you’re not funny don’t worry- because NYC Comedy Festival takes place this week so you can still make your date laugh. There are multiple events going on everyday so you are bound to find something going on within your neighborhood/budget.

The full schedule is available here: http://nycomedyfestival.com/schedule/

    2. Asi Wind LIVE – Impossible: New York’s Night of Magic, Nov. 16

Who wasn’t amazed by magic when they were younger? Who decided magic was only for children? If a guy pulled a quarter out of my ear I would 100% give him my number then ask him if he can make a few more appear so I can do my laundry. Asi Wind is a mentalist and mind reader who just finished touring with David Blaine. He was also voted the “Best Magician in Israel” so I am sure he’s going WOW you and your date.

I would also recommend getting there early because this is a VERY intimate venue that fills up quickly.

    3. People’s Choice Salon Show, Nov. 17

Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn regularly hosts art shows with amazing live music and cheap beer. What’s a better way to show you’re cultured than taking someone to look at art while drinking PBR? You can look around and discuss what you think each painting means then cuddle up on the couch and listen to some tunes. Also its FREE!

    4. Blunderland Variety Show: Homecoming, Nov. 18

I'm going to stick with the performance arts theme here and recommend a one of a kind variety show at House of Yes that brings together the finest burlesque, circus, and cabaret. This show will offer plenty of Instagram story moments for your date as well, and you never know what to expect from House of Yes. Also if you haven't been to HoY, you are missing out on some free-spirited vibes and this could be a good intro event to the venue.

    5. TGIMonday Game Night, Nov 20, Nov 27

LeGrande inside the Time New York Hotel hosts the perfect ’90s throwback bash. Relive the glory days of your youth (where everyone wasn't constantly on their iPhone) by playing classic board games like “Guess Who?” and “Clue” while sippin on some themed cocktails (~$10) reminiscent of your childhood sugar cravings. After sinking your date’s battleship, unwind by watching old-school cartoons and shows from TGIF that are projected on the lounge’s TV screens and downing a few cereal shots. (One even tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch!)

    (Time Out NY)

    6. Annual After Thanksgiving Hike in Staten Island (I Know), Nov. 24th

You can use this as an excuse to see what Staten Island is all about while walking off those Thanksgiving calories. The Greenbelt educators are hosting their 14th post Thanksgiving hike in the Greenbelt's serene woods. This ~2.5 hour hike will include a brief visit to the LaTourette house with plenty of scenic foliage to look at.

    Pre-registration is required though!

    7. Ask Me Another feat. Jason Mraz, Nov. 27th

The Bell House in Brooklyn hosts amazing events all year round for under $30. The essence of Ask Me Another, is a rambunctious hour that blends brainteasers and local pub trivia night with comedy and music. It resembles the casual intimacy of game night at a friend's house: one where scores are forgotten in favor of hilarious blunders- so a chance to laugh at yourself and show your date how down to earth you are.
