24 Times Indian Food Was Served In Everything But Plates And Bowls

Some of these are pretty innovative tbh!

    1. These samosas that were about to go on a little trip.

    2. And these parathas were being...umm...transported straight to your stomach.

    3. And so were these pakoras.

    4. While these pakoras and samosas were deeply political.

    5. Perhaps these appetisers were playing musical chairs?

Friends took us to dinner last night at an Indian joint in La Jolla. Appetizers came on twee little wooden chairs. Not a fan of plated cuteness for adults. Or questionable sanitation. Because I’ve spent years in restaurants, though, I knew how to close it down properly.

    6. Would you fancy your food with a side of twigs?

    7. This rather morbid way of serving biryani.

    8. These pani puris that also wanted to give you chemistry lessons.

    9. These phuchkas have great chemistry.

    10. Colourful golgappas — straight from the h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ cart.

    11. This mystery box.

    12. This great example of how you can put your umbrellas to use when it's not raining outside.

    13. These paneer tikkas that are rich in...er...iron.

    14. Forget shirts! Here's some well-ironed paneer.

    15. These naans that were simply added to cart.

    16. All I ever wanted was to eat rice out of a beer mug and rotis straight from a shopping basket.

    17. And this hanging naan.

    18. Brb. Just hanging some parathas on the clothesline.

    19. Gardening enthusiasts will appreciate this.

    20. Ah! Just wanna "dig" into this.

    21. Dustpan parathas. Yummy!

    22. When you've run out of chai so you pour curry into the kettle instead.

    23. Hello officer? Yes, I want my plates and bowls back.

    24. And finally, Maggi served in a beer mug.
