Created by the makers of Paatal Lok, Kohrra documents the lives of two cops (brilliantly played by Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti), as they investigate the death of a young NRI in a Punjab that perpetually flies. You'll love watching Varun Badola (remember Koshish and Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand?) on your screens again and there's a very, very special surprise for those who love the cult classic, Lagaan.

With Shefali Shah at its helm, Delhi Crime Season 2 is just as good, if not better, than its predecessor. Tillotama Shome is a wonderful addition to this masterpiece of a show.

13. Sacred Games (Seasons 1&2)

Based on the eponymous novel by Vikram Chandra, Sacred Games is essentially a puzzle created by crime boss Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) that the troubled police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is desperately trying to solve in order to save the city of Mumbai from an impending disaster. While the second season ended on a cliffhanger and then got cancelled, the show is wonderfully made and deserves your time.
