An update from the new COVID-19 front line - service industry speaks out

It’s an amazing feeling, after 3+ months of isolation, to return to socializing; to return to work (sporting the mandatory mask and gloves), and to being out in your own town in general.

Even if it does look tremendously different than it used to.

"We were excited to be back and to be providing customers with a safe and healthy environment to begin re-emergence.”

That feeling lasted for all of about one week.

[Here we are in week ______ and it all still applies.]

Then the people became entitled again.

    Asking questions like…

    “What do you mean, wait?

This is the only menu? *gasp*

No bar service? *wafts of disgust*

I have to wait to be seated?

I have to wear a mask to enter? *eye roll*

No more than 6 people in a party?

When will live music be coming back?

Why are you only open until __?

    Why such a limited menu?

Why are you out of so many ___?"

    The list goes on.

It seems these people may not understand a few things about the current state of affairs and how we like you, wish things were different.

    Be kind, people.
