1. You're forced to listen to Michael Bolton, everyday.

Everything was fine until you were 12, then that no-talent ass clown got famous and began winning Grammys. But mom's a Michael Bolton fan. For her money, she doesn't know if it gets any better than when he sings 'When a Man Loves a Woman.'

2. You get beagle puppies, and they are the adorables!

Mom's suddenly allergic and the puppies are forced to live outside. While she's away, you sneak them in anyway. Funny how she comes home and is never allergic. Allergies are so confusing!

You watch as the bitch rotates the puppies to make sure each gets feeding time. You wonder why 'bitch' is such a bad word, because they make great moms. You also wonder why mom hasn't gone food shopping, even though she goes out all the time.

Mom became a homeopathic doctor, and now herbal supplements invade every cabinet, counter and drawer in the house. You try to be supportive, but even a 12 year old knows this is downright silly. Who are you to argue with oreos and pizza for dinner every night?

5. Dad's awesome Estonian friends and family watch you while the parents take a trip to Bermuda.

At first it's a little weird, with their strange accents and customs. But then they cook a ton of awesome food and remind you that penis size doesn't matter at all. Just go real fast, they say. Mom comes home and is mad that you allowed them make a mess in her kitchen. Those weird Estonians and their custom of filling the sink with dirty dishes!

Mom tells you as you sprout your first pimples. Apparently a steady diet of pizza, oreos and tons of video games overpowers the homeopathic miracle oil mom dispenses. It must be your fault, because she's the 'doctor'!

Nope, that's not lipstick! You don't learn until many years later that smell is actually whisky, but you never are able to fully get rid of that association. You always wanted mommy's love, just not like this. Fortunately, you can change out of those clothes and forget the whole thing happened.
