The 7 Biggest Problems You'll Face As A Distance Learner At Staffs

Being a student in general means you'll face problems, but what kind of problems will you face as a Distance Learner?

Posted on

1. Trying to learn things and realising that Blackboard's gone down...

There's nothing worse than actually getting the motivation to do your work or learn something and then finding out that Blackboard is down for the next 24 hours.

2. Receiving email communications from the University and Union (woops) that weren't meant for you.

It's a bit annoying to be told to come to Mukky when you're living in Glasgow, and we understand that.

3. Not being able to go for a pint with your course mates.

We get it. But you can still find people in a similar boat to you on Facebook and socialise electronically!

4. Kind of being happy you don't commute to Stoke but also being kind of unhappy that you have to commute to work.

The commute to Stoke might be a long one for you, but you probably have to commute to work anyway.

5. Trying to get in contact with lecturers can be a pain.

Don't worry, they're super busy and all types of students will struggle at some point. You're not alone.

6. Struggling to balance work, family and university can be too.

It's hard. But you can do it. We think you're amazing and we're sure everyone else around you does too.

7. Actually realising that you're some kind of superhuman for being able to do what you're doing.

Go you. Have a dance and keep on smiling.
