Amitabh Bachchan claims to be a supporter of female empowerment. Last year in the movie Pink, he played the role of a lawyer fighting for three women in a sexual harassment case.
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Pink, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted this picture of the movie's crew.
There's just one teeny-tiny problem with the picture. NONE of the women who featured in or worked behind the scenes on the movie are in this picture.
And the irony isn't lost on people.
Some are sassing Bachchan for his ignorance on the problem of women having equal and fair representation.
Others are calling out Bachchan for being a fair-weather feminist...
And his error of referring to all the men in the picture as the "team of Pink" and not a part of the team.
Basically, people are disappointed to find out that the actual women who worked in a movie about their liberation from the bonds of patriarchy were left out by the "all men's club".
Let this be an example for why representation is important.
