You've probably heard someone say to you that falling in love with your best friend is a bad thing. However, there're many cases, indeed when this can be a bad thing. But if you're one of those lucky folks, falling in love with your best friend could be the best thing that's ever happened to you.
Falling in love can be stressful. You have so many feelings all at once, and it hits you like a truck (hellooo puberty). You're scared of what your friend will think once you tell them. You're scared you'll lose everything you've ever known. I know I was like that. Sometimes though, risking everything is the best choice. If you really really believe that they're the one for you, and you tell them, you could have 5 possible outcomes.
1. They like you back and you guys will start dating and whoo hoo you live happily ever after
2. They don't like you back but they wont make things awkward. So everything just remains normal between you guys
3. They don't like you back but everything is awkward between you two, with more awkward silences and whatever.
4. They don't like you back and they unfriend you and whatever and yeah.
5. And last. The worst of all. The most torturous of all, if they like you a lot, but they're taken. This last one plays with your heartstrings here. You're happy they like you back, but they have prior commitments, and you just can't help but be jealous and the third wheel.
So if you're helplessly in love with your best friend, listen to your heart. No one knows how you feel more than you do. And please don't just push them away. The chemistry you have together with your best friend is worth everything. If you're willing to risk everything to be their significant other, go for it. Don't push yourself to make decisions you're not ready for.
And one final, piece of advice. FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS NEVER EVER WORKS There you're just asking for your heart to be toyed with. But if you're just in for it for the sex, go for it I guess. But if you truly want them to be yours forever, please do not do that. Whatever you do, listen to your heart. You know yourself the best. So choose wisely here. Risk everything? or Play it safe? It's all your decision.
