An Indian Married A Vietnamese Man In A Traditional Hindu Wedding 'Cause We Deserve Happy Endings

Celebrate love. It's all we've got.

Meet 43-year-old US-based Hrishi Sathawane and his Vietnamese husband, 35-year-old Vinh.

They met on a dating site in October 2016 and fell in love...

And got married on 30 Dec, 2017, in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, in a small Hindu ceremony.

They even had a little Haldi ceremony before the nuptials.

AND LET'S NOT FORGET THIS GORGEOUS RAINBOW FLOWER CAKE.

After they travelled to Australia together in December 2016, they bonded and knew that they were the ones for each other.

Despite the couple being based in the US, they decided to get married in India because it was Sathawane's dream to have a Hindu wedding.

"They [the LGBT community in India] have nothing to fear from the Indian legal system. Having a gay wedding ceremony is not illegal. IPC 377 only criminalizes gay sexual acts and many other forms of sexual acts for heterosexuals," Sathawane told BuzzFeed.

"Get all your near and dear ones on board by coming out early and introducing your partner as a good person. When that happens and you want to throw a celebration of your love, they will come to celebrate it with you," he added.
