_Myrrha_ is a 1901 cantata for soprano, tenor, baritone, and orchestra. In it, Myrrha seduces her father on a whim and turns into a tree, then gives birth to a smaller tree... not the most scientifically sound story, but we'll take it!

_Listeria_ is a bacterial infection causing flu-like symptoms; about 260 people die from this disease annually. Yuck!

_Ciguateria_, or fish poisoning, is caused by eating seafood infected with _Gambierdiscus toxicus_ microalgae and has no cure. Guess they're sleeping with the fishes now!

_Alcyone_ is a cantata by Ravel for soprano, alto, tenor, and orchestra. Alycone _really_ enjoyed calling her husband Zeus, which angered the actual god enough to kill the husband - some kinks just need to be shamed.

_Semiramis_ is a partially lost cantata by Ravel for soprano, mixed choir, and orchestra. Semiramis had two husbands and temporarily ruled Assyria, but that wasn't reason enough for Ravel's groupies to preserve the entire cantata.

You guessed it (or maybe not) - _Callirhoe_ is yet another Ravel cantata! During her life, Callirhoe married Medusa's son and was also a nymph, but to Ravel, she was nothing more than a preparatory exercise for the 1900 Prix de Rome.

_Yersinia_ literally is what caused the Bubomic Plague, and guess what? It's not dead yet! RIP all of us.

Although the _Giardiasis_-causing protozoan may look happy, its hosts definitely aren't! _Giardiasis_ is the most common intestinal parasite in the United States.

_Scarbo_ is the third movement of Ravel's piano cycle _Gaspard de la nuit_. Based on a poem of the same name by Aloysius Bertrand, it depicts a goblin harassing the sleeping narrator in the dead of night. What a fiesty guy!

_Feria_ is the last movement of Ravel's _Rapsodie espagnole_ for orchestra. The portrayed carnival-like atmosphere has hints of nostalgia, but who knows why? Maybe Ravel, but he's dead.

Like _Ciguatera_, _Vibriosis_ is a seafood-based parasitic infection, although it can also be transmitted just by being exposed to infected salt water. Looks like you're never going in the ocean again!

Maybe if you had gotten a single question right, we could tell the number of freckles, but you really outright failed this quiz.
