7 Myths About The Summer Ball Busted

You can't believe everything you're told - here are 7 of the biggest Summer Ball myths we've been hearing around campus...

1. Beyonce is playing a secret set at the Summer Ball - FALSE

A lot of students have told us that they think Queen Bey will be playing a secret set at the Summer Ball. Unfortunately, she’s booked to play at Kingston Working Men’s Club on May 18th so is unavailable.

2. There isn't a Fun Fair this year - FALSE

The Fun Fair is running as usual this year, and all of the rides are completely free!

3. The Ball and Boat Party are just for third years - FALSE

The Summer Ball is open to all students, and there are very likely to be more first and second years (combined) on the night compared to third years.

4. Prince Harry will be attending the Summer Ball on his stag do - FALSE

Prince Harry did call to ask if he could come along as he wanted a last night out before the big day. Unfortunately, non-students can only attend the Summer Ball as guests of current students, and he doesn't know anyone who goes here. He’s since made plans to go Riley's Pool Hall in Twickenham instead, so if you’re having a drink there before the Ball then please say hello to him for us!

5. The budget for the ball has been cut - FALSE

6. Non-St Mary’s guests can't attend the Summer Ball - FALSE
