Binding is a technique used to minimize the appearance of a person’s chest. Some transgender, queer, and gender-nonconforming individuals wear binders to create a flatter silhouette.

People choose to bind for different reasons β€” from lessening the uncomfortable feelings that stem from dysphoria to looking more amazing in a button-down shirt.

Binding can be a way to make how you feel on the outside match how you feel on the inside.

Though not everyone will be able to understand it.
