"It was in such an attacking mode, which is not the right response," Vidya explained. "You can't use freedom of speech as a way to send hateful racist messages, you know?"
"If [people] feel free enough to say these things to me, then I'm fine with exposing who they are," she expressed. "I'm sure I'm not the only person dealing with this. There are other South Asians or people of color of all different races that are dealing with the same thing."
"I was a little down for a little bit, but at the same time, I know my self worth, I know that I'm generally a positive person, and I don't feel any of these things about myself," Vidya said.
"But I'm also 36 years old," she continued. "Think about little girls, or teenagers that are getting remarks about the color of their skin, or telling them to leave this country because of the way they look. I can't imagine what they would go through."
"I want to show that South Asians can have the ability to do digital creation and be a big part of social media in a positive way," she explained. "Just because I get negative comments, I don't want to feel like I can't do what I'm doing."
