Pretend You're The Protagonist Of A Christmas Movie And We'll Tell You How It Ends

Good morning, main character! What's this lovely town you're waking up in?

What does your character do for work?

How would friends describe your character?

Which love interest does your character fall for?

What dilemma does your character face partway through the film?

How does your character decorate their home for Christmas?

Which Christmas item has special value in this movie?

What song plays during a particularly intense montage sequence?

And finally, what important lesson does your character learn?

Wow. Your protag suffered some hurdles there, but in the end, you got to kiss your newfound S.O. after stumbling upon some of the ol’ hemiparasitic plant. How romantic! Everyone around you says "aww" and claps because you, the protagonist, are so cute and so is your S.O. Then you ride away on a horse drawn carriage or something, into the sunset, with snow falling and "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" playing in the background. After the scene fades out, though, the credits reveal that immediately after the kiss, a live snowman ravaged the town.

You Get a Kiss Under the Mistletoe!

Question mark, am I right? After going through the classic three act plot line, your character found themselves being sucked up in a beam of bright light, which was definitely not part of the writers' denouement. Thinking at first that maybe this was ascension to the North Pole, you totally succumbed to the hypnotic glow. Anyway, now you live onboard this ship with all these beings from another galaxy. There's high potential for a sitcom spinoff here – don't let it go to waste!

You Get Abducted by Aliens?

The events of this Christmas movie were too much for your protagonist. With a quick haircut, dye job, pair of shades and a one-way plane ticket, you're off. You've changed your name to something mysterious and new like F. H. Twixtelmeier and you spend a lot of time lurking in airports and train stations, plotting your next place to travel. You devote the rest of your life to never looking back. The events of the Christmas movie mean nothing to you. You will not even collect royalties for when it plays on a random cable channel.

You Start a New Life!

At the end of the Christmas movie, a frail old person hands your protagonist a check. "For me?" you say, dumbfounded. "But...I don't know you!" This is of no matter to the old person, who has decided your character's good deeds have made you worthy of a fat inheritance. When they die on Christmas, your protag becomes a multi-millionaire overnight. You invest half of this money into your extensive stamp collection and donate the other half to your community. How inspiring! You get some local news coverage and even a picture of yourself hung up in the town pizzeria. The film ends by closing in on this framed photo, of you smiling with a slice, before fading out.

You Inherit a Stranger's Fortune!

I don't know if your Christmas movie involved a familial tie to Jack Frost, but by the time the credits roll, your character has harnessed magical powers that allow you to produce snow, ice, or frost at the drop of a hat. Pretty cool Frozone thing going on. This inevitably makes your character a superstar, the way Michael J. Fox is once everyone finds out he's a werewolf in Teen Wolf. And your protagonist gives everyone a white Christmas, which is much appreciated. Also like in Teen Wolf, your best friend makes and sells bootleg t-shirts with your face on them to cash in on the magic. Are you cool with this, or will this cause a rift in the friendship? You Develop Magical Snow Powers!

Whoa, what the crap? says your protagonist, as you realize jolly old St. Nick really does live and work in the North Pole. This news is a lot for you and you end up passing out. Though the others fan you awake, insisting that Christmas presents are bought by human beings from stores, your main character's seen the truth and can't look back. Everything is different now. You link up with Santa and end up moving to the North Pole to start a new path. Plot twist alert!
