Surprise, surprise. Despite multiple gunshot wounds, two stabbings, a fall from a three-story window, and a lifetime of shame, your villain lives to see another day. By some supernatural force, they evade kill and capture, terrifying the movie protagonists but offering great franchise opportunities. Like this classic ending, you're a bit of a traditionalist. your emotions might seem eternal sometimes. Cheer up – in six years, they'll make a second direct-to-video sequel with an entirely different cast.

The killer lives

Whoa, man. Your movie pulls a last second change-up that’s as unexpected as it is confounding. It seems like the main character wakes up and the nightmare’s over, but then they wake up again for real in a haunted asylum? Or, there’s an alien invasion months after the villain has been caught? Maybe the ending itself is the dream and the characters have dissolved into madness. Who knows. Who cares. This film exists beyond reason. Like you, it relishes in the absurd.

Listen, all exploitation sickies are pretty messed up, but this one crossed the line. It would be swiftly cancelled if it were released in the year 2021. This film wouldn’t be able to find funding in the year 2021. The ending is so inappropriate and uncalled for that viewers everywhere kind of can’t believe it. What the hell, man. Read the room.

[REDACTED] [WE CANNOT TALK ABOUT IT] [THE MOVIE IS PROBLEMATIC]

“Okay, this is epic.” That’s what the audience says while watching the showdown between the protagonist and their evil twin. No one could’ve guessed that the killer was, in fact, the main character’s long-lost identical sibling. And in your film’s finale, the two meet their match in a bloody battle. It’s a cliche but juicy twist that, like you, never gets old. Some of us just live for the drama.

Your killer got really creative and now all the protagonists are dead. What’s more, the murderer sewed all their faces together into a football made just for Thanksgiving. (They’re excited for the game, I guess?) It’s a gruesome but memorable ending that, like you, can’t be forgotten. This film delivers on the hype and becomes a cult favorite, with midnight showings popping up at independent venues in the years after its release. What’s better than a movie stacked with Halloween costume inspiration?

Everyone's faces are sewn together into a Thanksgiving football

Aw hell. You had us going for an hour and twenty-two minutes there. In a shocking turn of events, the main character is a total bad guy. The finale reveals their wicked game, their awful secret, that they are a complete sicko. Guess we shoulda been rooting for the villain this whole time. You are drawn to darkness and like to explore its corridors and crevices. Like this movie, you shock and delight.
