Know the Type of Bike

If you are under the impression that all bikes are the same just under different brands, then you definitely need to learn more about them. There are different types of bikes that you need to familiarise yourself with first of all. They are cruisers, sportbikes, touring bikes, dual-sport bikes and standard bikes. Which of these you opt for is dependent on your preferences and requirements. If you are looking to race, sport bikes are obviously a great option. Engine Capacity

This is the more boring side of things, but it also happens to be one of the important ones. The first thing you should know is that engine capacity varies from bike to bike. For instance, Harley-Davidson motorbikes will not have the same type of engine as other bikes. To begin with, seeing as they are luxury motorcycles, they certainly feature a much better anatomy. Engine size is typically measured by CCs or cubic centimetres. Larger engine capacity does not always mean that the bike will perform faster so bear that in mind.

Seating

Aside from being comfortable, the seating needs to be of the right height. The rider has to be safe at all times, and if the height is not right, it can be downright dangerous. Seating requirements can differ from person to person since people are of different heights. You need to choose one that is right for you. Weight

This too is an important feature since you need to be able to control and manage your bike. Especially if you are racing. Racers typically opt for heavier bikes since it helps them ride fast. You also want to make sure you can control your bike on your own in case you are in a place where there are no people (which does happen). Women should especially be sure that they have the ability to control heavy bikes if they are going to opt for them, since physical attributes do come into play in such instances.
