"He Did Not Mention A Single Personality Trait Of Hers" — This Groom's Wedding Vows Went Mega Viral, And People On The Internet Have OPINIONS

A snippet of the vows included, "Since the beginning, I was always told that life gets even better when the kids fall asleep and you tell me to come to the bedroom. Nothing's better than the sound of gagging and headboard slamming."

Personalized wedding vows are a pretty popular tradition these days. Although they don't happen in every single wedding under the sun, they're often a great opportunity to let your partner know how much they mean to you — in your very own words.

Even though personalized wedding vows are unique to the person saying them, they all tend to have similar content and a similar vibe. But lately, there's a set of vows that have been getting A LOT of attention online, particularly because they're a little, well...different.

It all started when wedding photographer and TikToker @lensculture shared a couple's wedding vows on his page. So far, the videos have been watched more than 12 million times. The bride's vows to the groom felt pretty standard and loving:

"I'm more than thankful for every day with you. You have completely stolen my heart, and I honestly never want you to give it back. You are one of the most selfless, funniest, [most] caring people I have ever met, not to mention very accident-prone. We have created two of the most beautiful girls in this world together, we bought our first house, we made it through the rough times and the good times, and since I have you, I know we will always make it though. Thank you for choosing me to create your life with."

Meanwhile, the groom's vows* are really what has everyone talking. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll let you read for yourself:

*Again, this is a grown man — and a father — reading this to his wife-to-be in front of their friends and family.

"Only two things are required to keep me happy: Keep my belly full and my balls empty. Though you're amazing at half of it, we really need to get you some cooking lessons," he began.

"Even when my belly isn't full, there is no one I could ever love more in this lifetime, unless I actually get a chance to meet Margot Robbie," he continued.

"Since the beginning, I was always told that life gets even better when the kids fall asleep and you tell me to come to the bedroom," the groom continued. "Nothing's better than the sound of gagging and headboard slamming. PS: Since you're so good at making decisions, like marrying me, you can choose whether tonight's gonna end with being a Toaster Strudel or a Twinkie."

Wow.

Since the vows have officially gone mega viral, they've made it to many different corners of the internet, and people have big opinions. In the comments on the original video, people weren't too pleased:

"This is so sad"
"He did not mention one personality trait about her — like not one!!!"
"Walking away from the altar after that"
"If I was her, we'd no longer be getting married & I'd tell him to go find Margot Robbie so he can be rejected by two women in the same day"

On Twitter, the vibe was similar:

watching vows from straight weddings is so disheartening. The bride is always reciting poetry like “from this moment until forever, my heart beats for you and you alone” meanwhile the groom is like “I’ll be happy as long as you keep my belly full and my balls empty”

if a man ever spoke about me in this way especially in front of my family it is absolutely over i can’t believe she went through with the marriage

@SimpLisaa @AllieXRiot @oryseium @bassham_colby fr who the fuck says "I promise myself forever to you...unless" in their wedding vows? it's not a fucking vow then!!!

And finally, over on Reddit, people really dug into the fact that not only did the groom say all this to his wife, but he also said it in front of the officiant, his own MOTHER:

"If I were that mother, I would have walked out and refused to continue to officiate."

"It’s the fact his mother was the officiant, and their two daughters were the flower girls. I cannot imagine talking to my spouse that disrespectfully at all, let alone in front of the family. And then the bride said, 'I don’t deserve him, he’s so much better than me.' Like, girl, you deserve more respect from him and yourself."

And others felt that even if this is the bride and groom's dynamic, their wedding day isn't the time or place.

"I also have a playful relationship with my fiancé. We make jokes about ourselves and each other constantly. If an outsider heard it, they'd think we didn't like each other. In our dynamic, if you're not teasing the other one, you must be mad.

"But there's no way in hell we'd do something like this at the altar. There's a time and place for making those kind of jokes, and that isn't it."

For the bride's part, she did chime in and say that she doesn't consider her husband's vows a "red flag." So, to each their own, I guess.

"So I'm the bride and no this isn't a red flag we have been together for 10 years now and decided to get married right before our 10th year'

Personally, I know how I feel. But what do YOU think about these *unconventional* wedding vows? Share your thoughts in the comments.
