7 Etsy Shops You Literally Need To Buy From

Etsy is basically a haven of handmade hipster and vintage items, which can be a good or a bad thing, but here is a list of shops that are 100% worth a look!

1. Sweet Pickles Designs

A shop originating in Oregon in 2010, this shop specializes in collars, bowties, and corsages for your pet. Before you completely roll your eyes and scroll down to the next one, just, don't. The owner, Shana, is the sweetest thing, and CEO Pickles the Cat is your secret new best friend.

The bowties are the only thing I've purchased from here, but they are great quality with a lot of love and care put into each item. My cat, a lovely tuxedo, was incomplete in life before he put one of these on. Just take a look at the Instagram for real-life photographic evidence of the pure perfection.

2. Black Bird Supply

This shop carries apparel, accessories, and home décor (along with a wicked sale section), all with their original designs. I had purchased a black tote bag with a Virgo constellation on it, even though I’m a Gemini (but we can ignore that). That was the day before I moved to New York, aka September 2014, and I still use it almost daily.

They don’t carry those anymore unfortunately, but they do carry a plethora of other items that are clearly amazing quality and need to be checked out.

3. Calimailer

Based in California, this is a shop I have ordered from time and time again because they are just perfect. They are not as personal as many other shops; with no "About" page and simple terms of purchase. They primarily market themselves to weddings and events, but their prices and quality of items is amazing. They are basically fairy light heaven.

I use them to purchase all of my fairy and holiday lights and I will never buy from anyone else until they go out of business. For 32 feet of lights, you can choose from 9 colors, and each set has 8 different modes of play. They offer both electric and battery operated options, usually below $5!

4. Heartificial

I know, pins are like, that new hipster trend and I was sucked in. In case you are not well versed on the specifics, lapel enamel pins are being brought back from the grave, with artists creating their own line-work and sending them in to a company to be made, and shipped back. Because of this middle man, pins can be PRICEY. They usually average at about $10 per measly pin, and because of this, it is hard for many designers to afford the high cost of production if they have a smaller following.

Now that I’ve finished my lecture on lapel pins, I advise you to check out Heartificial. Kasio, the owner, sells a HUUUUUGE variety of pop culture, feminism, and original pins, along with cross-stitch, socks, buttons, and “Dad Hats”. The best part is, the prices are SO GOOD. Shipping is fast. And their Instagram is pure eye candy.

5. Clementine Creative

This is a shop that focuses on printables, run by a graphic designer named Carmia. She sells printable planners, calendars, cards, and inspirational prints and all of them are just fantastic. There is a big focus on watercolor design, so everything is very soft and colorful. I really wasn’t a “printable person” until I desperately needed to find a last minute birthday card for my mother-in-law and found this shop.

She also has a website, and if you subscribe, she offers free printables every month that she designed! I have subscribed and she doesn’t send out an overload of emails, and the printables are really, really useful. And free. So, so free.

6. Silent Poetry Arts

If you like washi tape, this is your shop. If you don’t like washi tape, I don’t know if I really want to speak with you, but I also recommend going to this shop. Perhaps it will make you turn over.

All the rolls are great quality, and so affordably priced. And some of the rolls are just pure freaking magic. The shop does carry more common kinds of washi, along with floral, text, glitter, and vintage kinds. It also has planner dividers, stickers, and a huge sale section. When I ordered, it shipped so fast and the entire transaction was so professional, I have no idea how I lived before finding this shop.

7. Brooklyn Charm

I live pretty close to their brick-and-mortar shop in actual Brooklyn, but, online shopping. Brooklyn Charm is exactly what it sounds like; a customizable charm shop with pre-made jewelry and create-your-own pieces. They offer custom engraving, different fonts, vintage chains, among other things. Some of their permanent line includes star sign necklaces and and state charms, along with my favorite, the Boss Bitch engraved necklace. All of the wants.

They ship out of California, so if you are in New York or stopping by any time soon and are thinking about buying anything, consider stopping in and saving a couple of bucks off shipping. Their store is located in Williamsburg, so unfortunately you’ll have to set foot there, but you know. Jewelry.
