And I don’t know about you, but one person automatically sprung to mind when you look at the photo.

Could it be any more obvious?

The photo exploded in popularity. Within 24 hours, the photo has received more than 102,000 comments from members of the public telling the police that the man in the photo looks a bit like David Schwimmer, aka Ross from Friends.

The police have confirmed Schwimmer’s whereabouts on the date in question.

“Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date.

“We’re so sorry it has to be this way.”

And holy moly I am here for the comments.

    It’s quite a story.

Honestly, the Ross-from-Friends lookalike robber story might be my favourite of 2018

It’s essentially a Friends episode that never was.

UPDATE: David Schwimmer has tweeted: “Officers, I swear it wasn’t me” along with this video.

Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation. #itwasntme https://t.co/EDFF9dZoYR

Oh, and if you know who this is, please email 7798@lancashire.pnn.police.uk quoting log LC-20180920-0670 (repeat: It is not Ross from Friends).
