How To Be An Extreme Boston Sports Team Fan

Boston, Massachusetts is the greatest city in the world to be a sports fan. Correction... BOSTON SPORTS TEAM FAN! We have the Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins and the greatest looking football team the Patriots. Of course I have to mention we have the greatest quarter-back aka the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady. Have you ever been to Boston and thought, “wow, those Bostonians are crazy. They are hardcore fans”. Just because you see us drunk to the excitement of a win for our team doesn't mean that person is a hardcore fan. Let me give you some tips on how to be one. I asked Matt Diddio, one of Boston’s many extreme fans, what tips he would give a new comer to being an extreme Boston fan. Listen and learn, and choose the right teams. It's Boston.

1. First things first, DON’T YOU DARE JUMP ON THAT BANDWAGON.

You either like the Bruins or you don't. Don't get all fan happy because we are on a winning streak and you were nowhere to be found when we sucked for years. You are with us or you are not.

2. GO TO EVERY GAME.

3. Season tickets are a great option. If you can't afford them, watch it in the comfort of your home.

4. You don't have cable? EVERY BAR IN BOSTON IS PLAYING THE GAME. NO EXCUSE.

5. Wear that lucky shirt during the game. Believe in our team. Always .

6. Drink heavily every game. (21 above of course)-Matt Diddio

7. Know the stats of your favorite player.-Matt Diddio

What are you doing liking a team if you don't know that your favorite player won five super bowl rings?

8. Have a ritual before every game or during the game. Eat, Pray, Love! If you don't do your ritual religiously it’s your fault we are out for the season.

9. WEAR YOUR DAMN JERSEY!-Matt Diddio

10. If you don't have a jersey (shameful fan) YOU BETTER HAVE A HAT.

11. You better have a sticker of the team on your car. Multiple.-Matt Diddio

12. Don't have a car? Get that on your bike, your laptop, I DON'T CARE. YOU NEED A TEAM STICKER THAT CAN BE SEEN. I NEED TO KNOW IT’S YOURS.

13. FOR THE MOTOR VEHICLE OWNERS. Your license plate needs to be of the sports team. The DMV is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You have time. If you don’t, do it online.

14. You need signed memorabilia!-Matt Diddio

SO WHAT IF IT’S ALMOST $1000 for Tom Brady to sign a football. DO IT!

15. TALK AND GLOAT ABOUT THE GAME UNTIL WE PLAY AGAIN. -Matt Diddio

Even if we lose.... talk about how we could have done better or how the other team cheated.

16. ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOUR TEAM!

17. Remember: THEY HATE US BECAUSE THEY AIN’T US.

You don't need a Boston accent to be a true fan for our sports teams. Don't feel so bummed out that you actually pronounce those R's. Follow those simple tips and you will fit into the Bostonian Sports crowd so well. Go above and beyond and be happy supporting Boston's teams. It is the only way you will truly be a happy sports fan if you choose us. You might even gain a strong tolerance to alcohol because we are that good. ALWAYS BELIEVE!
