The original's on top and the Micro Tip's on the bottom. It's literally the exact same formula you know and love, but with a finer tip for ~even more~ control and precision!

Yes, it's still waterproof. Yes, it still looks pristine all day. And yes, it's even better than the original when it comes to creating cool graphic liner looks, drawing wings so fucking sharp they could murder, and filling in the spaces between lashes to make them look fuller and more apparent.

Sarah Lucero, Stila Cosmetics Global Executive Director of Creative Artistry, stopped by the As/Is office and demonstrated how to create three super cool looks using the Micro Tip!

To add a little extra glam, she used a few of Stila's Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows and the Huge Extreme Lash Mascara, which — pro tip – you can use a fan brush with for your stubbornly short bottom lashes and an individual lash curler to pump up the volume.

First came the double-lined wing which, as the name suggests, means lining both the top ~and~ bottom and drawing a small top flick.

For the bottom lash Sarah began the line from the outer corner inwards and then focused on the inner half, using very tiny, light-handed strokes.

Then she thickened up the wings a bit and dotted liner onto the bottom lashes to open 'em up the eyes like so:

Dani loved the results and said that technique made her "look more awake than she's ever felt in ages." 💃🏻💥

Next up was what I'm gonna call the ~Sketched-out Wing,~ which is such an alluring switch-up from your classic cat eye situation.

It's basically an incomplete cat eye! Start from the outside and draw an extended upwards-curved line connecting your base line as if you were drawing a normal wing and then draw a horizontal line from the outer end inwards.

If you need a lil' help, you could try using the Vamp Stamp to create the "wing" part and then extend the ends with the Micro Tip.

Sarah finished off her eyeliner spree with what she calls The Victress, which has a cute lil' v-shaped dip towards the center of the eyelid and would totally be the eyeliner look of choice for Wonder Woman.

Sarah opted to paint a stroke of Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow (in Gold Goddess) in the crease — instead of using the black Micro Tip — for a subtler finish. And voilà, there you have it.

Since it was my fave style, I tried recreating the Victress on my own to varying degrees of success.

My review in a nutshell: The Micro Tip is definitely tugs a little more on the eyelids and works best. Both Stay All Day liners tug a little more than the liquid eyeliners I usually use (i.e. the NYX Epic Ink Liner) and the pigment doesn't come out the nicest or the most ~fluid,~ but it's easy to work with and it stays true to its staying power claims!

For this particular look, you really do have to use both liners. I found that the Micro Tip is best for painting short strokes, which makes sense, so you still need the original for the base line and even filling in the outline, unless you have ample time on your hands. At the end of the day, it's just about how you want to use the liner!

The first day I tried it, the V's were a little too off-center and everything came out waaaay thicker than I had anticipated, but I still dug it! You have to be careful drawing a thin base line so you don't have to keep building that up and end up with super dramatic results, unless that's your jam! But I still got compliments from friends who seem quite impressed and, IMHO, not bad for the very first try! I'll deem them ~Little Black Crowns~ because that's what they look like. I'm an on-the-nose kinda person.

The second day, I succeeded in dialing it down. I only drew the top half of the "v," so it wouldn't turn out as thick as it did the previous day!
