Promotions and raises: two very important and practical things we should learn about in school, but don't (for the most part).

All of a sudden you're at your first job, and you feel it's time you deserve more responsibility and moolah — and well, your old pal Google can only help so much!

Not to mention societal standards have made us afraid of speaking up and owning our accomplishments, so we don't feel like we deserve to ask for promotions or raises.

How did you prepare for the ask?
