The Costumer Life of Philip Maldonado
Philip Maldonado sets up costume departments, pulls stock, shops, does fittings, research and performs breakdown scripts. He sets up trailers, works on set and with actors. He also does aging and distressing work, sews and does last minute repairs if needed on the all important costumes.
Mr. Maldonado has worked with the Theatre Metropolitan Opera House in New York from 1979-85, Titanic 1996-97, The Great Wall, Suicide Squad, Carne y Arena, Insidious, Warcraft, Star Trek the next generation, Pirates of the Caribbean 3-4. He has received a Magnificent 7 Award, Costume Designers Guild Award nominee for excellence in television. Also, The Shield, The Salton sea, Charlie's Angels 2, Nightmare on Elm street 4 and Freddy's Nightmares TV.
The most creative thing Mr Maldonado has done recently was for Legendary pictures was "Warcraft" with Glen Close. Rigging the hood of a black cloak worn in the scene he attached nylon thread to the sides of her hood to turn when she turned her head to revile her face to camera from 30 feet away with cues from the camera man. Production, he loved it!
Philip Maldonado feels proud and privileged to be a Costumer for the film industry.
