7 Awesome Hair Care Tips That Actually Work

Everyone wants to have healthy and beautiful hair. What wouldn’t you do to have the lustrous locks that celebrities have? The fact is that these people don’t use any magic products for their hair. The only thing they do is follow the right kind of steps for hair maintenance. The best way to maintain strong and shiny hair is to practice good hygiene and maintain a healthy diet as they require plenty of routine. The essential tips and steps you need to follow for proper hair care are:

    1.Wash hair sparingly

The frequency with which you wash your hair can have an impact on their health. If you wash them too frequently, there is a risk of them drying out because all of their natural oils will be leeched out and this will end up damaging your hair. Likewise, washing them rarely is also not recommended because this can lead to build up of dirt and dust, which is equally damaging. You have to strike the right kind of balance, which means washing your hair twice a week or every other day.

2.Use the right shampoo and conditioners

The choice of shampoo can also decide the health of your locks. Sulfates and parabens have become common ingredients in shampoos as the former help them lather up whereas the latter are preservatives. It is better to use natural cleansers, especially ones that are designed for your hair type. You can find a number of plant based vegan shampoo and conditioner choices that comprise of natural herbs and vitamins and can ensure long-term hair health. You can find options for straight, dry, oily, coarse or even colored and treated hair easily. Deep condition at least once a week for keeping your hair healthy, soft and moisturized.

    3.Choose hair products carefully

Yes, hair need protein, but too much of it can make them brittle and desiccated. You can use frizz-control serum for taming frizzes, but avoid using too much because it can damage your hair. Also, use vinegar for rinsing your hair twice a year as this will make it look cleaner and shiny. In addition, it can also get rid of dandruff.

    4.Don’t forget oiling

One of the oldest tricks in the book for ensuring the health of your hair is by moisturizing them with oils. For decades, women have used different oils for keeping their hair shiny and glossy and it is undeniably effective. However, you can only get the desired results if you use the right kind of oil. It is best to use a mixture of five oils namely olive, castor, lavender, coconut and almond in equal proportions. You can also use egg oil if you want. Just apply the oil and leave it for four hours before washing it out. This should be done twice a week to keep your hair nourished and moisturized.

    5.Let your hair dry naturally

When you get out of the shower, don’t use a towel because their fabric is damaging and rough and can cause split ends and frizz. Instead, use a cotton t-shirt for wrapping your hair. Don’t brush your hair when it is wet because this will make it weak and brittle. Try letting your hair dry out naturally and avoid the use of a hair dryer as heat can be immensely damaging. Use a wide-toothed comb for brushing wet hair, but don’t brush too often as this is also harmful.

6.Trim your hair and style it naturally

It is recommended that you get your hair trimmed or do it yourself after every few weeks as this can prevent split ends. Doing it every six to eight weeks is best and this allows you to keep your hair healthy. Your hair will not be overly damaged if you style it once in a while, but doing it multiple times every week is damaging. Avoid crimping, bleaching, straightening, perming, curling or repeatedly coloring your hair. Don’t use rubber-bands and don’t go for hairstyles that pin or pull the hair back tightly. Go for up-dos or simple ponytails to keep your hair healthy.

    7.Eat healthy and avoid stress

Your hair needs the right amount of vitamins. You need to eat a balanced diet that’s rich in whole grains, lean protein and fruits and vegetables. This will ensure that your hair look and feel better. Get plenty of Vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids as they lead to healthy hair growth. Mental and physical stress can cause hair loss so you should try to avoid stressing yourself out unnecessarily. Find healthy emotional outlets for your stress such as biking, yoga, meditation or other forms of exercise.

Follow these tips and you will be able to maintain your hair in the long run and ensure they remain healthy and strong.
