How Celebrities Are Responding To Kanye West, From Chrissy Teigen's Jokes To Taraji P. Henson's Side-Eye

"The sunken place has WiFi. We get it."

Roses are red, the future is bleak, and Kanye West has been tweeting a lot this week!

my MAGA hat is signed 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Because of the controversial nature of many of his comments (and because this is Kanye West we're talking about), it isn't that surprising that a lot of fellow celebrities went out of their way to weigh in — or not weigh in, for that matter — on what he's been saying.

Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian naturally rushed to his defense.

To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this... your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary. So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair

He’s a free thinker, is that not allowed in America? Because some of his ideas differ from yours you have to throw in the mental health card? That’s just not fair. He’s actually out of the sunken place when he’s being himself which is very expressive

However, she did make it very clear that Kanye's opinions on the president are very different from her own.

Now when he spoke out about Trump... Most people (including myself) have very different feelings & opinions about this. But this is HIS opinion. I believe in people being able to have their own opinions, even if really different from mine He never said he agrees with his politics

Kanye will never run in the race of popular opinion and we know that and that’s why I love him and respect him and in a few years when someone else says the same exact thing but they aren’t labeled the way he is and you will all praise them! Kanye is years ahead of his time

And she *ALSO* chastised the media for blaming Kanye's spurt of commentary on his mental health.

Mental Health is no joke and the media needs to stop spitting that out so casually. Bottom line

It also seems that Kim spoke to Kanye behind-the-scenes about what he has been saying.

my wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don't agree with everything Trump does. I don't agree 100% with anyone but myself.

Kris "No Days Off" Jenner immediately went into emergency spin mode, denying not one...

...not two...

...but THREE news stories based on Kanye and Kim. The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works HARDER.

Based on this screenshot Kanye shared, it looks like singer John Legend reached out to the rapper to try and get him to modify his stance on the president. It...didn't go well.

Chrissy Teigen sort of seemed to address the situation via this tweet, saying that while the public might want stars to air out their grievances publicly, a lot of this discussion actually goes down behind the scenes.

Everyone keeps asking me to comment on shit. Comment on psycho Tami Lasagna, whom I refuse to give the joy to, say something about RHOA, speak up about kanye. When it comes to people we know, we DO speak up. To THEM. not on Twitter. And sometimes, I guess it makes it to Twitter.

She also poked fun at the screenshot Kanye shared of his conversation with her husband.

She went on to further make light of the situation...

@KimKardashian are we still doing dinner Friday or no lol

...and Kim (the two are pretty good friends) played right along.

Yes but maybe no phones 🤣📵📵📵📵😂 https://t.co/zIEZS28DXC

Get Out writer/director Jordan Peele joked that he might be taking inspiration for a sequel from Kanye's tweets.

On the other hand...Ice T had no time for Kanye's antics.

No time at ALL.

On the other hand, Chance the Rapper and fellow Chicago native backed up Kanye in a series of tweets.

Talked to him two days ago. He’s in a great space and not affected by folk tryna question his mental or physical health. Same Ye from the Vmas, same Ye from the telethon. https://t.co/2zY3KpllV2

He also went on to make some political statements of his own.

Black people don’t have to be democrats.

My head is spinning trying to decipher this, but somehow Todrick Hall (a remaining member of Taylor Swift's "Squad") somehow turned the whole thing into a defense of the pop star.

I love how all the peeps who said Miss Swift stole from Beyonce went MIA when the video came out and wasn’t even remotely Beyonce-esque & how the people that said she “probably voted for Trump” are now silent when Kanye is out leading the Trump parade. Cat got your tongue?

SUBTWEET TIME. As usual, Jaden Smith had a very...Jaden Smith take on the whole situation.

But somehow, it kind of makes sense?

Another subtweet, this time courtesy of J. Cole via Nas.

And I couldn't help but laugh at Gabby Sidibe's tweet.

The sunken place has WiFi. We get it.

But (unsurprisingly) Taraji P. Henson and Angela Bassett had probably the best take on all of Kanye's commentary, courtesy of an interview with AP Entertainment. I know listening and clicking play is a pain in the ass, but I *PROMISE* it's worth it.

UMMMMM: #AngelaBassett and Taraji P. Henson (@therealtaraji) don't know what to say about @KanyeWest's latest antics. https://t.co/cKme9d11sY

2018 has been *QUITE* the ride, hasn't it!
