    There are many virtues to learning the handstand that everyone should know but I am going to share with my top 5

    1. Courage Do you remember when you took your first baby steps? No me neither but I have seen babies attempting to walk and it fascinates me to see how persistent and stubborn they are and apart from mastering the upright posture they develop courage. We can learn a valuable lesson and develop the same courage we all had as babies. Attempting to balance on the palms of your hands is not only difficult but it requires huge amounts of effort. You will fall over numerous time and hurt yourself probably. (I suggest trying it against a wall or door first to build up some strength) But only through the failed attempts will you learn the greater lesson which is, that in life you will fail many times but if you persist you will eventually succeed. Never give up!

    2. Circulation If you are suffering from circulatory problems then this can be a life saver. By adopting the handstand the blood from your feet rushes down your legs, massaging the most important organ the heart along the way towards your head (more on this below) hence circulating through your whole body. Not only does this provide a boost of energy but it also nourishes your organs and improves blood circulation.

    3. Rejuvenation After the blood flows past your heart it will eventually reach your face and head. Now if you didn't already know I will reveal a secret to you. Veteran yogis look a lot younger than they should because they practice the handstand. The extra blood flowing to their face gives them a vibrant and glowing look which most of you attempt to replicate by using expensive cosmetic surgery or face creams. If you want to look younger and have a glowing face do the handstand!

    4. Posture When you learn to master the handstand your posture will also improve resulting in a taller and confident pose. If you know how to stand tall on the palms of your hands with a straight back then doing it on your feet becomes extremely easy.

    5. Strength What a great upper body workout for your shoulders arms and back and for anyone who wants square shoulders and a wide back. It requires a lot of physical effort and strength to hold this posture but as your progress you will notice how much stronger you begin to feel and the physical changes on your body.

    I am not telling you that it is going to be easy but what I will tell you is that if you can master the handstand then you will almost certainly benefit from my tips above.
