This Service Dog Hang Glides With His Owner

In order to do his duty, Shadow hangs out in the skies in a special harness his owner made to bring him along.

    Meet Shadow.

He's an Australian cattle dog who lives in Utah with his owner, Dan McManus.

Shadow is a trained service dog who didn't take lightly to McManus taking off into the skies.

Shadow is a "psychiatric service animal who has helped McManus with separation anxiety."

To help out his furry friend, McManus built a special harness for his hang glider so that Shadow could come along.

Shadow is a very protective and slightly jealous dog. This was a nice solution to his worried chasing.

He's a very good flying partner and takes his job quite seriously.

“He’ll put his little paws and arms out around me and hang onto my arm and get right with it,” he said, according to the interview. “He shifts his weight. He looks down at the ground. He looks around at the other gliders in the air.”

“As we always say, home is where the heart is,” McManus said. “And I think this is where his heart is. He was born to fly.”
