Foreshadowing That Betty And Jughead Will Break Up In Riverdale Season 2

The secret is in the shakes.

Whenever B and V are at Pop's, Betty is always seen with a vanilla shake while Veronica is always seen with a chocolate shake.

The milkshake flavors are an obvious tribute to their hair colors as well as their distinct personalities.

In the season finale, the two main couples of the show are seen drinking milkshakes at Pop's.

This, in itself, is not very surprising.

But notice how Veronica AND Archie both have chocolate shakes.

The two are clearly on the same team.

And on the other side of the table, Betty has her classic vanilla shake while Jughead has (what looks like) a strawberry shake.

Though it could just be Jughead just being "a weirdo" who refuses to contribute to the age-old debate of chocolate or vanilla, we later see trouble in paradise at the end of the same episode.

In the last few minutes of the finale, Jughead is offered a customized leather jacket by none other than the Southside Serpents.

While Jughead seems to like the idea of finally feeling like he belongs, we see a not-so-happy Betty showing some concern.

Perhaps, Jughead's milkshake wasn't even strawberry, but rather the Blossoms' favorite cherry red.

This would make all the Chughead/Juryl fans happy.

However, a whole strawberry is clearly seen on Betty's milkshake so maybe the Bughead ship won't crash anytime soon.
