ICYMI, Tamil Nadu has been in a state of turmoil over the past few weeks, with AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala locked in a bitter battle with acting chief minister O. Panneerselvam over the position.
However, a 1996 disproportionate assets case filed against Sasikala and late Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa has now come back to haunt her.
In a shocking twist, the Supreme Court has now upheld the original conviction, thus effectively ending her quest to become chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
