12 Reasons Why You Should Hire Me.

Hi, my name is Amy! I am currently applying for a job at Buzzfeed so I figured what better way to make a list than make a list about why I'm worthy of the job! As an active Buzzfeed user, I'm extremely eager to show not only why my skill sets will make me a great hire but also just how much I understand the company in which I am seeking a job.

1. I'm applying for a writing position because I love to write and because I'm good at it. I've written a lot, particularly when it comes to music.

2. I am interested in providing my unique voice to Buzzfeed. I know that I have plenty to say and this is an amazing platform to say it.

Also, unlike Kimmy Schmidt, I am great at making decisions. Unless it is what to eat, I always struggle with that!

3. I'm a great team player. I work well with others but I'm also good working on my own. I think it is important to understand where others come from and get a sense of their views while establishing my own.

Even if I'm not working directly with you, I'll say hi to you, ask how you're doing and even bring you a cupcake on your birthday. I'm extremely friendly and can talk to anyone!

4. I'm extremely positive and warm! I know how to balance being fun with being professional. I'll get my job done but hopefully I'll get you to laugh throughout the day as well!

5. I'm obsessed with pop culture. My Netflix queue and my Goodreads book list are full, I get my nails done just to read gossip magazines.

6. I have built my reputation on my work ethic, being thorough and able to hold my own under pressure. I have excellent attention to details, I know how to juggle multiple tasks, and my eagerness holds no bounds.

Everyday I will come into the office ready to work, happy to be there and hoping to make sure everyone around me has a good day. While getting my work done, of course.

7. In my last position at Yelp, I was managing multiple accounts of local businesses, learning the ins and outs of their field and trying to find the perfect way to help them succeed. I'm able to talk to anyone, to learn about anything and prioritize multiple projects.

8. I'm extremely curious. It explains why I'm always reading, why I've never been afraid to try to figure something out on my own before asking questions, but also why I'm so invested in things that move people. It is that same curiosity that allows me to have a lot of ideas for brainstorming.

9. I believe I have a lot of emotional intelligence. I think that I've had to mature past that of my peers in the past two years in my personal life. That doesn't mean that I can't joke around. I know when to be serious and when to be silly.
