The Kissing Bridge
This icon Douglass Campus landmark was gifted to the university by the class of 1926 and has a very special legend surround it. People speculate that if two students attending the university, traditionally one from Cook College and one from Douglass College, kiss on the bridge they are destined to be together forever.
The bridge crosses the ravine that is located between Mason Gross complex and Mabel Smith Douglass library. It was even engineered by the same firm that worked on the Brooklyn and George Washington Bridges!
The suspension bridge was restored both in the 1970s and 2001 make sure that it can withstand the test of time and be visited by generations of students yet to come.
