Mcdonalds menu used to offer fried chicken on its menu from 1998 to 2002. Called Chicken McCrispy, it gave KFC some serious competition before abruptly disappearing, much to the dismay of its fans. The chicken was well-loved for its succulence and crispy skin, which was achieved by steam-marinating the chook before deep-frying it. Last November, Mcdonalds menu unexpectedly brought back the McCrispy after an 18-year absence. The comeback was launched at only 10 restaurant outlets, with long queues forming at some branches. In response to 8days.sg’s queries, a rep for the fast food chain said the limited run was a “store trial that enables us to gather valuable customer feedback”.
